Born and raised in Colorado, Peggy Judy attended Colorado State University where she earned a BFA in Illustration. Despite devoting the last thirty years to raising two children and breeding, raising, and training horses alongside their equine veterinarian spouse, the artist has recently been able to pursue a career in art and is now represented by top art galleries throughout the country with an emphasis on contemporary western art.
 
Judy's work is classified as Contemporary Western, featuring traditional and respected western themes but with a unique perspective and expressive interpretation. Drawing on her background in illustration, the artist employs a graphic approach to composition and design to capture the intense spirit of the West. She portrays the animals that are native to the western states, as well as the people who care for them.
